OCAS Selected as a 2016 Waterloo Area Top Employer

GUELPH, ON: The Ontario College Application Service (OCAS) has been named one of Waterloo Area’s Top 15 Employers for 2016. The annual competition, organized by the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers, recognizes employers in Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge and Guelph who lead their industries in offering exceptional work environments.
“It’s our employees that set us apart,” says Karen Creditor, CEO of OCAS. “Their compassion and drive to help our applicants succeed, not only with their college applications, but in life, is truly inspiring. The spirit of collaboration, determination and mutual respect for one another makes OCAS a really fun place to work.”
Companies were evaluated based on the same eight standards as the national competition: physical workplace; work atmosphere and social activities; health, financial and family benefits; vacation and time off; employee communications; performance management; training and skills development; and community involvement.
“Our staff are all about making a difference in people’s lives and it shows,” said OCAS’ Human Resources Manager, David Hong. “The Guelph Food Bank is one of the charities we like to spend a lot of time working with. Some of our staff volunteered at their facility recently and through the Adopt-a-Family program, we’ll be supporting a few people who will be alone during the holidays.”
The winners were announced in the Waterloo Region Record and the Guelph Mercury on Saturday, November 28.
